CAS cards

Clean and Simple cards ... are not my forte.  I kinda stink at them actually.  Sooo anytime that I can practice, I do.

This first card is from Freshly Made Sketches.  I'm still using my From The Heart pre-printed images.  This first one is A Little Something .

My second card uses the sketch from the Less is More blog.  I think I used to many layers for this one to be considered CAS but ... I tried!

My image is Nerd Girl Potion with a sentiment from There She Goes

Off to go make Guacamole for our Oscar Celebration party

SS452 Bugaboo

Happy Saturday!!

It's time for another challenge over on the Sketch Saturday blog.  This week we are sponsored by Bugaboo, one of my very favorite digital stores.  I love her snarky humor.  This week our winner will receive 4 digi-images.

I'm using Jodie's fabulous set Friends Don't Let Friend's Wine 2 for my card.

I hope you have time to join in the fun this week.

Sick Kiddo cards

Still at home with a sick child so even with vacuuming, laundry and bathroom cleaning ... I have time to craft.  I had a bunch of From The Heart images pre-printed so I decided to use them.

This is Birthday Cat Pout and I just love his little face.  I'm using the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.  I rotated the sketch to fit my image.

My second card is for my teamie, Kathie, who just fell and broke both her tibia and fibula.  Ouch.  I again used a FTH image, but this time I used Feel Better Birdbrain.

I used the challenge from the Paper Play Sketches site.  I loved how this card turned out.  It's on it's way to New Zealand as of yesterday.  Feel better soon, Kathie! (blowing kisses)

President's Day Means Crafting!

I got a few cards done yesterday during our holiday.  We had planned to do a bunch of fun kid activities (Goony Golf and a movie) but everything was canceled due to the oldest getting a cold.  But having time to just relax and craft was fun too.

I'm using the sketch from the Catch The Bug Challenge blog.  It made a cute birthday card.  I used Jodie's Bacon In The Sun image.  My second card used the sketch over on the Sunday Stamps Weekly Challenge.  I'm using the Gerda Steiner image, Llama Tell You.

PaperPlay Sketches 35

My niece is having a boy.

I'm not going to lie, but when I found out that I was having a boy the first time, I was a bit disappointed.  I had my heart set on a girl because I wanted the close relationship that I had with my mom.  Now, 14 years later (yikes ... has it been that long?!!) I can say without question that my boys are two of my greatest treasures.

So I wanted to make a card to congratulate my niece as well as celebrate the wonderful, unique and often mysterious creatures that boys are.  I'm using the sketch over on the Paper Play Sketch blog but I rotated it to fit my image.

I'm also using the "Bodacious Bow" theme over on Dragonfly Journeys.

TMS 390: Wasting My Morning

OK, yes ... I am wasting my morning worrying about my dog (hey, crafting helps me relax) but I love this silly dog like a child.

So, I can now return to my regularly scheduled life because she is out of surgery, recovering nicely and will be ready to pick up in 2 hours.  Yay.  In my defense of the time wasting ...  I want you to know that I did get some laundry and ironing done in between my card creating!

I made one last Valentine card for next year.  I used a Heather Ellis Pure Innocence image and the Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge to make a shaker card.  Who doesn't like playing with these?!!

I'm joining in Jeannie's Valentine challenge over on Dragonfly Journeys as well.

FTH 162: Spectacular

The dog is getting her teeth cleaned this morning, so I have some extra time while I wait for the call to come pick her up.  That's $400 flying out the window for that procedure ... ouch.

I desperately need a few more birthday cards so I decided to join in the sketch fun over on the From The Heart blog.  I had to rotate the sketch so I could use the image (and that fun glasses paper).

SSW2-106 DSB

Happy Wednesday

It's the day after Valentine's Day ... I hope you got lots of chocolate and love from your friends and family (If not, all those leftover chocolates are now on sale, so run and get some!)

It's also time for another challenge on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 blog.  Our sponsor is Sally-Ann from DigiStamp Boutique.  She is offering our winner a  £10 voucher to her online store.

This week I used her cute image: Cute Balloon Panda to make my card.

SS450: You Are Monstrously Cute!

It's Saturday and that means that it's time for another challenge over on the Sketch Saturday blog.  This week we are sponsored by Drawn With Character.   This week our winner will receive 3 digi-images from the Drawn With Character store.

I'm using the Valentine's Fuzzy Monster set for my card.  There are three terrific images in this set.

I hope you have time to join in the fun this week.

FTH Progressive

You are probably thinking ... "Gee Whiz, Joanna ... what is with all the pigs, lately?!!"

It IS a lot of piggies this month.  But this is the From The Heart progressive image for February.  I am in love with this little guy.  Hamlet is absolutely darling.  AND, in return for using him I will get next month's image for FREE!!  Yay, you know me, always looking for the free stuff!

I'm using the sketch over on the Great Impressions Challenge blog.  I love how this card turned out.

Valentine's Day Gerda Progressive

As I sit here, writing this post, I'm watching my dog eat.  She has an iffy stomach so in addition to the pills I give her each morning, I also sprinkle a probiotic powder on her food.  Apparently it tastes quite good.  So as I watch, she is sucking the probiotic off the dry food and spitting the pellets out.  (Sigh) No wonder my kitchen floor is never clean.

In crafting news, I am using this month's Gerda Steiner progressive image.  He's a little cutie.  I know that I look that happy eating chocolate too.  Because I used her image, I will get next month's image absolutely FREE!  It's not too late to join in.

I'm also using the sketch over on the  Catch The Bug blog.  As I look at the sketch, I just noticed that I left off an element.  Oops.

I Love ...

It's 5:00 here now.  I'm looking at my watch and wondering when I can crawl into bed.  I'm still working out quite a bit ... desperate to lose more weight!!  Eventually I hope that I will start to feel more like an athlete and less like the victim of a horrible bus/pedestrian accident.  When do the endorphins kick in?!!

As you can see, I am still finishing up my Valentine's cards.  I'm nearly there.  It helps that I don't plan to send out 75 like at Christmas!

This little cutie is going to one of the nieces or nephews.  I used the sketch over on the Watercolor Wednesday site.  I just changed the shape to a circle but pretty much stuck to the sketch.

My next card is a bit busy but it reminds me of an old Victorian Valentine's Day card.  But I know that the person that is slated to receive this will love it.

I plan to enter it into the "Anything Goes" challenge on Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge.

SSW2-105 Dilly Beans

Can you believe that it is February already?   It's nearly time for Valentine's Day cards.  I have three done (so the most important men in my life are taken care of) but I probably need to create a few more!!

In addition to being the first of February, it's also a Wednesday so it's time for another challenge over on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 blog.  Anne created a fantastic sketch for us to use.  There are lots of ways to interpret this one.

We have Megan Suarez from Dilly Beans as our sponsor this fortnight.  I'm using her fun image: Crinkles with Heart Flowers Framed.  She will be giving our winner 3 images from her shop!

I hope that you can join in the fun!
