SSW2: Twisted The Stamping Boutique

Happy "almost" Halloween!!

It's Wednesday and time for another challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  This week we have the return of a favorite sketch from Arlana AND the return of a favorite sponsor.  Click here if you'd like to see what the designers of Sweet Sketch Wednesday did with it in 2010.

Tracey from The Stamping Boutique is back to sponsor our twisted orange challenge.  I'm using her Halloween Monster digital stamp.  She's offering our winner 3 free images from her store (4 if you use a TSB image and win!)

I loved this fun dude, only adding some googlie eyes to make him especially goofy.  This week, since it is the last week of the month we have the special twist that you must use to be considered for our prize.  It's an easy one: use orange on your card.

We hope you find the time (between bites of pilfered chocolate ... oh wait, that's me) to join in the sketch fun this week

It's a Very Doodle Pantry Christmas

I spent today trying to get ready for Christmas.  First I exercised so I can fit my bootay in the slinky dress I want to wear for Mr. Blog's Company Christmas party.  This event stresses me out beyond belief.  I usually start to freak out about it around ... oh, June!

Today, I may have done so many leg exercises that sitting will be a problem later this weekend!  But sitting is over-rated anyway, just saying.  After I crawled home, I decided to try and knock out as many Christmas cards as possible.

I used some of my Doodle Pantry images and a few of my favorite sketch challenges for inspiration.  The cards came together so quickly.  For my first card I used Quirky Snowmen and the Tuesday Morning Sketch.

My next card I used the sketch over at Sweet Sunday Sketches and Doodle Pantry's Holly Wreath.

Are YOU ready for Christmas?!!

SSW2-32: Just Some Lines

I wanted to share a photo of my beloved with you ... yep, it's my dog!  She just looked so cute laying beside me as I write this post that I had to snap a shot.  I love that she is laying on Mr. D (dragon).  This is her absolute favorite squeaky toy!

I am so glad that you could come join us for another sketch challenge over at  Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  This week Sally has given us another fun sketch to work with; I really DO hope that you will join in the fun.

We have Jehanne from  Just Some Lines back as our sponsor.  The shops stocks whimsical art work created by Jehanne.  She creates and adds new artwork regularly into her shops when not doing school runs, illustrating children books or running after sheep.

SSW2: Cheeky DigiStamp Boutique

Hello Wednesday Friends.

I'm back to share a card that I made for this week's Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 challenge.

This week we are being sponsored by DigiStamp Boutique.  I used Sally-Ann's Cheeky Monkey set (I love this set!!).  There are three fun images and all are fabulous!  Sally-Ann is offering our winner a  £10 voucher to her store.  Cool!

I'm also using this card for the Breast Cancer Hope You Can Cling To challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers.  It's their annual card drive to benefit cancer patients.  This is it's 5th year.

Lydia challenged us to use the paper tole technique.  There is an interesting tutorial over on the SCS blog if you aren't sure what it is.  Here's another picture so you can see my layers better.

What I learned was ... I do it wrong.  Apparently you shouldn't see white underneath all the layers.  None of the glues I tried worked so in the end, I used the pop-dots I always do to give me the depth that I wanted (unfortunately, they are WHITE pop-dots).  I might have to invest in the recommended glue ... I have to admit that I like it darker underneath.

I hope that you can pop over to the Sweet Sketch blog this week to participate.  YOU could be our next winner!

DP: Going a Bit Nutty

My youngest just announced that he doesn't want to dress up this year.  He says that he thinks he might want to only hand out candy.  I'm not going to lie ... I'm a little sad.  I love everything about Halloween and it's a bit of a bummer to have the trick-or-treating element be over so soon.  Of course, I'm hoping that he might change his mind as Halloween gets closer but who know.  I might just have to get over it. {{Sigh}}

But, in other news, there are plenty of cute Halloween images from Doodle Pantry for you.  You should check out the new ants that Laurie has in the shop now.  My card features one of the new sets.  Get it; it's an ant ... dressed up for Halloween!  There are also new worms dressed up too ... way cute! This set, Nut Costume Ants, can be yours for FREE with any purchase through the 24th of the month.

I loved the sketch over at Digi-Sketch Challenge this fortnight so I wanted to be sure to use it.  This round the theme is Humor.  I've got the cute-ness factor covered but I don't know if this really counts as funny.

Hurry over to Doodle Pantry so you can get this set free.  Time is running out!

SSW2-30: Patti's Creations

These are not my favorite cards to make ... unfortunately, sometimes you just need one.  This is going to my MIL.  Her beloved poodle passed away over the weekend.  She is a bit sad so I wanted to make a card to let her know that we are thinking of her.

It's also Wednesday and that means it's time for another challenge over on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2  blog.  Sally has a great sketch for us to work with this week.  Patti's Creations is our sponsor this week and she's offering up three digi-images from her shop to the winner of the challenge.

Patti is an Internet Technology Professional and an artist.  She uses her skills in Photoshop, Illustrator and Fireworks to create her amazing characters and sells them on her site.

So grab your stamps and hop on over to the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 blog.  While you are there, check out what my teamies have done.  Their cards are amazing this week.

DP: S'mores

The boys and I went on a hike a few days ago and when we returned, we popped some marshmallows in the microwave and ... boom, instant s'mores.  OK, they don't have the same charcoal flavor as the real ones do but they were met with enthusiasm by the young-uns!

About the only thing I can eat are the graham crackers (and then only with careful bolusing) Curse you diabetes!  One time I was low, and decided to eat a s'more to raise my blood sugar.  I went from 39 (oops, a tad low) to 254 in an hour.  Not really a good option for me to eat at ANY time!

BUT, I can use this cute set from Doodle Pantry without any damage to my diabetes!  This month those who post a card, using a Doodle Pantry image, to the Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge Blog will receive this very set, "S'more Please," for free.  In addition,  participants will be entered into the drawing for a $15 gift certificate to be spent in the Doodle Pantry shop.

I used the sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  It was a fun sketch.  I liked the swirls so much that I decided to leave off the flowers.

Eat Cake:

Who hasn't felt this way about a birthday?  I made this card with my BIL in mind.  I was going to have Mr. Peedles um, relieving himself, on an enormous "50."  Steve made it to the half-century mark this year, but I was worried that he wouldn't find my card as hilarious as I did.

This fabulous image can be found over at the Eat Cake Graphics store.  Holly has some great new images ready.  My absolute favorite image is the Coffee Label that states: Lord, give me Coffee to change the things I can change and Wine to accept the things I can't!  That bad boy WILL be mine!

Head on over to the store and grab some goodies while the getting's good!

SSW2-29: Bugaboo

This is my second post of the day, if you are looking for the Doodle Pantry New Release, please scroll down!

Phew, I spent 2 hours this weekend helping my son make a diorama for his report on the book: The Journal of Augustus Pelletier: The Lewis and Clark Expedition.  My contribution was #1 to keep him on target: Ugh, he is soo distractable, as bad a Doug the Dog!  And #2, I had to combine all the leftover colors of Molding Magic that we had into a brown (the ONE color that we didn't have) for the 75 Indian warriors that had to be made.  To be honest, after making 20 warriors, the youngest decided that the rest of the warriors were "hiding in the trees."  What a good thinker he is!  I gonna say that I am REALLY not a fan of book reports.

In other news, this week over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 we are once again sponsored by Jodi and the gang over at Bugaboo.  Love them and the fabulous digis available at their store. This week Jodie is offering her usual AMAZING prize of seven, yep (7!!) digis to the winner.

This week I used one of her Bobblehead images.  This is Bobblehead Dracula!  Pretty stinkin' cute!

Remember, in order to be eligible for this week's fabulous prize, you must comment on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 blog.  Good luck!
