FTH: Stamp Of The Month

Just a reminder that TODAY is the last day of the month and therefore the last day to use the Stamp of the Month over at From the Heart Digital Stamps.  This month's image is called Flappy Birthday.

Faith has a progressive challenge ... each time you use the Stamp of the Month, the next month's image is e-mailed to you for FREE!  Who doesn't like getting free images?

I also used this week's sketch challenge too.  It's a versatile sketch, one that you will want to use over and over again.

FTH: Sketch 81

It's International Coffee Day today.  I plan to celebrate with a very, VERY large SF vanilla latte from Starbucks (OK, this is something I would probably do anyway even if it WEREN'T International Coffee Day, but shhhh)

I wanted to share some of the things a friend of mine and I made for her employees to celebrate this very day

We get together once a month to make a little something and celebrate her employees.

This month we used From the Heart's Birdbrain Needs Coffee to make MANY cards.  Each had a Starbuck's Via attached.  I made the larger card at the top for her to attach to the goodies she planned to leave in the nursing lounge.

I also used this week's sketch for my card.  How great is Imke's sketch.  Very useable (I've already used it twice, look for it later this week!).  You can get a $1.00 off coupon each time you enter the sketch challenge.  Remember to use a From the Heart image or it will be deleted.  You can use the sketch OR use the twist.  This month's twist is to use eyelets.

So get out there ... and get some caffeine in you!

SSW2: Fresh Brewed Designs

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another fun challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.

Since it's the last week of the month, we've got a "re-wind" sketch to use AND a twist.  This sketch was originally previewed in November 2013.  Also, don't forget that since this is a "twist-y", you must incorporate the twist in your creation to be eligible to win.  Since our theme is "coffee" there are a number of ways that you can do that: paper choices, your image or perhaps a well-chosen embellishment.

Heather from over at Fresh Brewed Designs is our sponsor and she's offering up three digi-images from her shop to the winner of the challenge.  I'm using her Girl On The Go for my card this week. I paired the image with a phrase from Doodle Pantry's Coffee and Biscotti

Here's a bit more about Heather:

FTH Sketch 80

It's time for another sketch over at From the Heart Community blog.  This week's sketch was cooked up by Calypso and it's a fun one.

This week's twist is to make your own embellishment.  So in order to be eligible for the prize, you must either use the sketch or make your own embellie.  Not terribly difficult.

My "home-made" embellishment was cutting the "Merry Christmas" out from my Silhouette ... not EXACTLY what I'd consider homemade but close enough!

I hope you have time to join in the fun this week.

SSW2: DSB-28

Welcome back to Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2's weekly challenge!  Our sponsor this week is Sally-Ann from DigiStamp Boutique.  She's offering the winner a £10 voucher to her store.

I used the set "Stanley" to create my card.  I needed a quick and cute birthday card for a family member (tons of birthdays this month!).  This little sweetie certainly fit the bill.

We hope that you stop by and join in the sketch fun this week.

FTH: Knit Happens!

Knit DOES happen ... like when you forget to schedule your post.  Ooops, I'm late.  Is it just me or does life speed up after you turn 30?!!

This week From the Heart has a brand new sketch for you to try.  You can either use the sketch or the twist, which is humor this week!

I decided to just twist.  I used Birdbrain Winter Scarf as my image and revisited my favorite colors of the month: purple and aqua.  This is my second card with these.

Come on over for a visit and see all the cards from the DT.  You won't be disappointed, I guarantee.

DP: Mid-Month Release

Yep, you read correctly ... there are more new images to peruse in the Doodle Pantry store!  And they are my favorite kind ... really CUUUUTE animals!  There are lots of monkeys, owls and squirrels with this release.

I used Gift Monkey and paired it with the Try Stamping on a Tuesday sketch.  The thing that is great about Laurie's sets are that they come as outlines AND pre-colored images.  I used those and made two REALLY fast birthday cards.

I also wanted to remind you about some of the specials over on the Doodle Pantry page, Cheer Spirit is the FEATURED product for Challenge #50 over on the Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge.  When you enter the challenge, and use a Doodle Pantry illustration (not just a sentiment) you earn this set for FREE!!

Also, don't forget that Ageless Antiques is the  FREE set with ANY PURCHASE from September 1-24!  Just add this set to your cart when you purchase any other set and it will be free.  Who doesn't like free?

FTH Mid Week Inspiration

Just a post to wish my friend, Jessica, a VERY happy birthday!  Sadly, your card will be late (again.)  She'd probably fall over in shock if it were ever to arrive on-time!

Another week is cruising by and I've got this card featuring another great From the Heart birdbrain chick to inspire you.  This is Birthday Candle Birdbrain.

Right now, Faith has all her images at a reduced price.  It's great time to stock up on all those images that you have always wanted.

SSW2-27 Ay Caramba ... It's Favorite Stamps!

Whenever I look at this stamp, I hear Bart Simpson's voice in my head: "Don't have a cow, man." Wow, has THAT show been on forever or what?!!  Still a little surprised that Bart won an award from Time Magazine as one of the 100 most important people of the 20th Century.  Really?  OK, kinda dating myself with that remark!

Welcome back to another Wednesday challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  This week, we are choosing our favorite stamps to work with.  We don't have a sponsor but it doesn't mean that there isn't a prize.  Sally has a collection of papers, embellishments and stamps to mail to the winner.  It sounds pretty cool, actually!  It was really fun to see what everyone on the DT chose to use.  I used Party Cow from High Hopes.

Of the billion images I own, I picked this one to use because it is the stamp of the month over at SSMIS and it was nice to check off two "to-do's" with one card.  Click here if you want to see what everyone else is doing with it.

Come on over to SSW2 this week and play!

FTH: September HOP!!

Howdy friends ... and welcome to the From the Heart Stamps blog hop.  The theme for this month's release is “For the Bird{brains}.”  I was REALLY excited since these are my absoluuuuute favorite images of Faith's.  We've got some really great eye-candy for you to see this month!!

If you have arrived from the From the Heart blog, you are exactly where you need to be.  If not why not head over to the From the Heart Stamps blog.  Trust me, you don’t miss anything this round.

My card features Birdbrain Needs Coffee.  I can't tell you how much I love this image!  Around here, coffee is something of a passion!  My technique is two-fold: I used sewing AND I fussy cut and popped the image.

This time, we would like to invite all of you to be a part of the hop! At the bottom of my post, you will find a linlinkz.  Use one of my techniques (or really ANY of the DT's techniques) and link to that page.  It's as easy as that.  If you are interested in guest designing for FTHS over the next few months, simply add GDT to your entry.

Don't forget to leave a comment on each entry as you hop along. One random commenter will be selected on each blog to win an image of choice from the FTHS store. AND ... one commenter on the From the Heart Stamps blog will be selected to win a $15 gift voucher to the store! Good stuff!

But wait ... Faith is offering another cool prize! Have you ever had a great idea for a Birdbrain image? Well, here is your chance!  One lucky winner will be randomly selected from ALL the comments to work with Faith, designing a new Birdbrain image!

Now head over to Ruth's to see the sweet card she made this round.

Doodle Pantry: Christmas Wishes

I need to get serious about "plumping" up my Christmas card stash.  Who could resist using this little guy.  He's from a set called "Winter Critters" over at Doodle Pantry.  There are sooo many cute Christmas images there.

I'm using the sketch over on Karen Giron's blog: The Sweetest Thing.  I love her sketches; they totally fit my style.

Don't forget that Laurie is offering a Labor Day special through September 6th (you have TWO more shopping days). The sale gives you 30% off your entire cart (excluding gift certificates and bundles)!!  You can grab the special coupon code HERE.

And speaking of Labor Day, here is how WE spent it: at the Balloon Festival Glow.  What great fun it is seeing the balloons light up the night and hearing the roar of the burners.  Definitely a memory!

Wednesday, September 3, 2014

It's another Wednesday and that means another challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  This week we are sponsored by A Day For Daisies.  Tammy is offering her usual great prize of a $12 gift certificate to her shop.

I once again took some liberties with this sketch (I have a habit of doing that don't I?)  I rotated it 90 degrees and then I might have skimped on the embellies ... I DO have three, two of them are just really, REALLY small.  I loved my sentiment so much that I didn't want to distract from it.  Sorry Sally.

I'm using Tammy's Book Time for my card.  I love this image.  It reminds me of all the books my boys and I read, squished together in Caleb's bed.  Good times.  I suggested reading some picture books the other night and no one was especially interested (insert boo-boo face here) I think I must have REALLY had a sad face because my oldest looked at me and said, "Fine, but we're reading only one, OK?"  They both are interested in big boy books now ... no more picture books for us.

I hope that you are inspired to join us for our challenge this week.  Why don't you stop by the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 blog and leave some love for my teamies ... they are did a FANTASTIC job this week.
