SSW2: Sami Stamps

It's another Wednesday and that means another challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  This week we are sponsored by Sami Stamps.  She is offering a great prize of a $12 gift certificate to her shop.

We have a blast from the past sketch.  Originally unveiled in June in 2013, it's making it's way around again.  If you are curious about what my card looked like last time, click here

We also have a TWIST this week.  It's to use buttons and bows.  Did you notice that my card, while cute, has neither a button nor a bow?  Oops.  I blame lack of sleep.

I urge you to hurry over to the blog and leave some love for my teamies (who DID follow the Twist!).

Eat Cake: Birthday Bear!

I just spent 20 very harrowing minutes climbing on top of the china hutch retrieving Nerf bullets.  It's something of a "no-no" for the kiddos to shoot their nerf guns anywhere in the house besides the basement!  But in their defense, Dad has the tent set up "airing out" in the basement.  I'm blaming their dad for my fearful moments.  I just kept imagining that I would fall and take out the china hutch and every bit of china inside.  Aaaaah!

Buuuuut in other news, how freakin' cute is this bear?!!  His name is "Bosley Says Lets Go"  He's another cute image available from the Eat Cake Graphic shop.  I highly encourage a visit to see what's new!

Doodle Pantry: Havin' a Gouda Day

Have you ever made a card and thought ... "good, but could be better?"  I recently made a card for my Monthly Swap group and while I liked it, something about it, bugged me.

So, I did a do-over.  This time I love how it turned out.  I'm using an older set from Doodle Pantry.  It's called "Have a Gouda Day".  Freakin' cute.

I used the sketch over on Karen Giron's blog: Sweet Sunday Sketch.  If I were more organized, I would have finished this BEFORE the collection closed.  Doh!

Here's attempt #1

Eat Cake: Chocolate ... mmmmm

We just got back from Target to spend some birthday money that was suddenly burning a hole in my oldest kiddo's pocket.  His birthday was in March and out of the blue, he asked if he could drop some cash.  I have to say that I inwardly giggle at the cashiers when my guys bring their "stash" in to spend.  Today youngest bought a spiro-graph and the oldest bought a ginormous Nerf gun (for $49.99 -- yes, you read correctly $50 for a Nerf gun!)  Both of them then proceeded to pay for their purchases with a lot of change ... many MANY pennies!  We weren't exactly banned from darkening their door again, but I think that they were pretty excited to see us leave!

I want to share another card I made for the Eat Cake Graphics design team.  I'm using Eloise.  I used my favorite paper-piecing technique for her dress.  I plan to give this to a friend who doesn't carry chocolate but has a handbag big enough to carry some (as well as the ginormous Nerf gun) if she chose.

Thanks for stopping by.

SSW2: DigiStamp Boutique

It's Wednesday and time for another challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  We've got a fun sketch and an even better sponsor: DigiStamp Boutique!

I'm going to admit that I took quite a bit of leeway when I interpreted this week's sketch!  So the palm trees are one "flower" and then the sentiment is the other ... but neither is circular.  Hey!! Can't you tell that I was being "creative?!!"

I absolutely adore Sally-Ann's images.  This one is called "Cheeky Monkey"  There are three wonderful images in the set.  I thought that they would make a wonderful Father's Day card!

Sally-Ann is offering the winner a  £10 voucher.  Please join us!

TMS #254-Doodle Pantry

Today Doodle Pantry is sponsoring the sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  I love Melissa's website.  She always has a great challenge going on.

I AM going to admit that this sketch threw me for a loop.  I could NOT figure out how to put the required Nike-like swoosh on my card.  I finally dusted off my old Creative Memories cutter and got the job done.

I totally meant to make this one an A2 but I got distracted and the next thing I knew ... I had a square.  {{sigh}}

I'm using an older image of Laurie's.  It's called Sweet Stuff and currently it is free with any purchase.  It made an awesome Thank You card.

Happy Father's Day!

Wishing all the family dudes a happy day!  Mine plans to nap on the couch and then take the boys to a movie.  Sounds like a good day to me!

I used a digi from Mo Manning.  Isn't he just the cutest?  I was also excited to finally use this paper.  I bought almost 9 years ago, thinking I would use it to scrap the adventure of finishing our basement.  Didn't happen!

I'm using the sketch over at Your Next Stamp.  It was a good one!

Doodle Pantry/Sweet Sunday Sketch #222

I'm so tired today.  Summer camp started this morning and we had to leave the house by 7:45 to get there on time (we almost didn't get there remotely close to the start thanks to a 3 car accident on the freeway).  We've only been out of school a week and yet, I'm amazed how quickly my body became accustomed to sleeping in!  Ugh.

I loved the sketch over at Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge this week, so I wanted to be sure to play.

I'm using this month's freebie over at Doodle Pantry.  It's called Classic Bug and Gas Can.  Isn't it too cute?!!  That little VW paper is probably my favorite part of the set!  Be sure to head over to the site to check out all the fun stuff available this month.

Additional challenges I'm participating in:
Catered Crop: Manly Men
The Craft Place: Men
Sentimental Sundays: Any-thing Goes (plus a sentiment)

SSW2-16: Bugaboo

It's another Wednesday; first week of June ... can you believe that summer is already here?  OK, technically it's not as my husband just made a point to tell me as he read this post over my shoulder but since the boys are out of school, it IS summer for me!

This week Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 is sponsored by Bugaboo.  Since I adore elephants, I snatched up her Peaches-Elephant Present to use.  Sooo cute.  Jodie has bunches of elephants; I highly encourage a visit to see.

We have a new challenge over at the blog.  The prize to the winner is 7 free digis

Bugaboo #211

My oldest graduates tonight from elementary school.  I don't know who is going to shed more tears, the hubs or I.   I've had four phone calls from him already (waaaaay more than usual) so I'm wondering if he's the one who will be blubbering like a baby ... too.

So proud of my little graduate.

I used the sketch over at Bugaboo to make my card.  Fun sketch.

Doodle Pantry: June Release

It's June 1st and time for another release from Doodle Pantry.  This set, called USA Charlie, is actually a re-release from a set sold by CDS.  But really, how cute is he?  I will admit to some intense giggling over the name ... get it, Charlie Horse!  OK, I'm easily amused but this set IS quite cute.

We're having a bit of a USA weekend.  We went to see Captain America: Winter Soldier today also.  I'm gonna be completely honest and say that I liked it far less than the first one -- too many explosions and too little plot for me.  But, the boys enjoyed it so I guess all was not lost.

The NEW JUNE 2014 releases are 25% OFF ONLY from June 1st thru 4th - no coupon needed.

The FREE with purchase digi for June 1-24 is Classic Bug & Gas Can. There are lots of really cool sets on sale, so why don't you hurry over for yourself to see what's new?!!

I used the sketch over at Papertake Weekly.
