SSW 195: Bugaboo Stamps

 It's Wednesday.

Time for another sketch challenge from Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  I'm not going to lie .... this week's sketch threw me for a loop. Apparently,  I'm running on mojo fumes.

I don't know if it's the stress of having the old house's closing less than a week away (what if something goes wrong?!!) or if the oldest son's science project took up all the creative juices but I made this sketch twice (and even altered an already made ONE to make it better) and I still don't love anything that I've created.

I decided to post all my ... um ... "opportunities for improvement?" Maybe SOMETHING will get your juices flowing or you can learn from my mistakes.  Or better yet, check out the Sweet Sketch Wednesday DT's work.  There is some amazing stuff there this week! Great job this week guys.

I DO, however, love our sponsor this week. It's Jodi from Bugaboo stamps! I always get excited when she's our sponsor because her store is chock-full of images that are right up my alley!  I totally GET her humor!  This week she is giving away 7 free images to the winner.  That is SUCH a fantastic prize.  Here's more about Jodi and Bugaboo Stamps:

Everything That You Ever Wanted to Know About Bugaboo Stamps: As if raising five children in the frozen land of the North was not enough of a challenge, Jodie Mackrell decided to dip her cold little Canadian toes into the world of papercrafting by opening an online store full of her illustrations. That was two years ago. Today Bugaboo Stamps is one of the leading companies in digital images, and we're still growing! From seriously snarky to sugary sweet to sublimely soulful all the way over to the other side of the super sexy spectrum, you're bound to find all that you need and more to create your paper projects. Jodie works very hard to provide New Releases and Freebies every week!
If your taste runs to rubber (and you know who you are), you can find Bugaboo Stamps stamps at Totally Stampalicious. And finally, join the Bugaboo Stamps DT for weekly challenges at Catch the Bug.

Attempt #1

The remake!

So head into your craft area and get to work.  YOU could be the big winner this week!

Snow + Sunday = Craft Time!

We're under a "blizzard watch" today.

And if it weren't for the oldest's pesky science project that is due tomorrow, I would have the ENTIRE day to craft.  I keep trying to hide in the basement, away from the kidlettes and the hubby but sadly, they keep finding me!

Lena wanted us to use this image for our February meeting of the SSMIS group.  He's Cowboy Ralph from Rubbernecker.  I don't really have a lot of cowboy paper and embellishments so I made the best of the situation.  I think growing up in Arizona led to my adverse reaction to anything remotely Southwestern :-)  The gang did a fantastic job with this one, if you want to see how THEY worked with this stamp, click ~HERE~!

I think the card turned out cute though.  I'm sending it to my nephew Cam.  His birthday is Tuesday but his son was born today as an early present.  Welcome to the world Nathan Ward!

Hello Wednesday!

It's time for another sketch challenge from Sweet Sketch Wednesday.
We're bringing out an old sketch but a good one.  It hales back to 2009, almost the beginning of Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  If you want to see what the designers did with the sketch then, please click here

Here's a little about Sally-Ann in her own words:

“My work means the world to me - it allows my passion to draw and create, to fit with my family life too - often the inspiration for my designs. Hope you enjoy as much as I enjoy creating.”

So join in the sketch fun.  Don't forget to link up your creation and comment so you can be eligible for those fabulous 6 free digis!

Love Is In the Air

Happy Valentine's Day friends.

I hope you have someone or something you can snuggle up to today.   We are lying low this holiday, no big celebration plans.  The kids are getting candy and the ever present Ninjago legos and Ken is getting THIS card.  I know, it's a little girly for a masculine card but let's face it ... Valentines itself is a little girly!

I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches and I'm also entering the card in Creative Card Crew's "chocolate" challenge.  Although it's hard to tell from the picture, I used Chocolate Chip SU paper to rim everything.  I love pink and brown together!  I really miss that team: Hi guys! (waving!!)

The inside reads "Sorry my butt got so big, thanks for still wanting to grab it."  I totally stole that from Rants from Mommyland.  She is so amazingly funny.

Hope your day is filled with chocolate and love.

Paper: Bo Bunnie
Stamps: Art Impression: Love is in the Air
Accessories: SU ribbon, sewing machine

SSW 193: Saturated Canary

Happy Wednesday and happy almost Valentine's Day!  It's time for another challenge from Sweet Sketch Wednesday!

As I type this, I'm watching the snow fall.  It's my favorite kind, the whispy and gentle falling snow.  Of course, I love ALL kinds of snow as long as I can sit INSIDE and drink hot tea and watch it.  It's when I have to drive and run around in it that makes it icky!

This week we have another great sketch from our newly crowned sketch designer, Sally!  Be sure and swing by the Design team's blogs and leave some love.  Everyone did such a fantastic job this week.

Our sponsor is Krista from Saturated Canary.  I love her images, so many cute images to choose from.  I really like the image that I used but I think I should have made some different choices when coloring her stockings.  She kind of looks like she's suffering from some dreaded disease!   Oh well, live and learn.  But here is a little more about Krista and her shop in her own words.

My name is Krista Smith. I am the artist behind the Etsy shop, Saturated Canary Digis. I began working in the stamping world about a year ago when I was hired to create rubber designs for the sweet Scottish company, Sugar Nellie. They launched my artwork under the name 'Simply Sassy.' I moved into the digital world just this past month (it's been a super busy month, indeed!). And-- I love it!! There is a little more freedom here, as I can create anything that pops into my head:)! I am so humbled by the artistic talent of the girls coloring in my designs-- it is truly an inspiration!

This week our prize is two free digis from Krista's shop!  Don't forget to leave a comment on the Sweet Sketch blog so you can be eligible for the grand prize!

SSW192: Milk N' Coffee

Hello friends.

It's Wednesday so you know what that means ... another sketch challenge from Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

Sally gave us a great sketch to work with this week and our sponsors are Esmeralda and Nathaza from Milk N' Coffee.  Here's a little bit more about our sponsor:

MilkCoffee Stamps is a digital image shop specialized in cute and girly images. There are 2 people behind this shop, Esmeralda and Nathaza. We are best buddies from our childhood with a common thing that we love so much: drawing. What we try to do is drawing various styles that suits different kind of tastes, so a lot of people with different style can still play along with our image for their cards.

There is also a Milk N' Coffee challenge blog that you can check out too.

This week's prize is 3 free digis from the Milk N' Coffee shop.  Cool!  Don't forget to comment after your post your card on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday blog so you are eligible for the prize!

Have a great week everyone.
