Hey There Tuesday Morning Sketch!

As soon as I saw "Custard" from Sugar Nellie, I knew that I had to have him.  I don't know what it is about cow stamps ... I just love them.

For today's card, I used Kathleen's sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.  As always, I modified the sketch a wee bit.  I chose not to put ribbon on the card, flip flopped the placement of the brads and I moved the sentiment to one side ... but other than that ... it's the sketch exactly. :-)

Tonight is our first rounds of baseball games.  I love summer, and I like baseball but sometimes going to everyone's game can be a juggling act.  This year we are the Pirates (ugh hot black uniforms) and the Angels.  At least we are not the Yankees again.

Stamps: Sugar Nellie: Custard, Great Impressions: sentiment
Paper: SU and unknown DP
Accessories: dew drops, copics, nestibilities, sewing machine, MS punch

SSMIS-May

When I first saw this image from hostess, Jessica, my initial thought was "I should make cupcakes tonight or maybe texas sheet cake, no wait, banana bread."  There's the power of suggestion for you.

I ended up just making the card (though I still think that banana bread sounds good!).  I honestly can't decide if I like it or not.  I'm kinda thinking it's too dark but I do like the flagpole I made out of punches (the pole is the handle to my umbrella die and the top is just a standard hole punch)

You can see how the rest of the gang handled this stamp in our gallery.  I'm off to make something with carbs.  Seriously.

Supplies:
Image: Great Impressions, Dessert Piled High
Paper: Bo Bunny, SU: purely pomagranate
Accessories: brads, ribbon, copics, popdot, stickles, MFT: little banners, various punches

Happy Thursday

Before the holiday I wanted to share one last Inky Impression card.  I created this  a few million years ago for the Inky "Inkzyne" which has now published, soooo I am free to share it ... with you!

I used Angelica's Daydream (one of my favorite Inkys) and jen's deconstructed sketch (one of my favorite sketch blogs)

I hope your weekend is A-Mazing; mine will be.  I plan to sit on my behind and do absolutely nothing!

Supplies:
Stamps: Inky Impressions: Angelica's Daydream, SU
Paper: DP: Echo Park, SU

Creative Card Crew: "Dimension"

It's Tuesday and that means it's time for another Creative Card Crew Challenge.  This fortnight we want to see your dimension.  That's right it's time to pop your top and use those pop dots!  This challenge our sponsor is Stamp Fairy.

I chose to use Barry Bee.  Isn't he cute?  With it being the end of the school year, I need a million "thank you" cards.  He certainly fit the bill.  This is the inside of the card

And of course, the close up shot to show all the dimension.  I popped both his arms and head, and then his head again.

We would love to have you "pop" in to join us (snort, I crack me up) Any-who, stop by Creative Card Crew and have some fun with us this challenge!

Supplies:
Stamps: Stamp Fairy: Barry Bee, SU: unknown bug set
Paper: Neenah Solar White, Doodlebug
Accessories: Ribbon, copics, sewing machine, MS punch, pop dots, crystal effects, nestibilities

How to Catch an Elephant

I got a chance to play on Mother's Day so I wanted to try out Jen's Deconstructed sketch.  I REALLY like her sketches.  I usually always want to give them a whirl.

The reason that I chose to work with Jellybean, aside from being such a cute image, is in honor of my oldest's favorite book: How To Catch an Elephant, by Amy Schwartz.

If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it.  In case you are wondering the secret to catching an elephant, you need to follow your uncle's advice and take to the jungle "3 cakes, 2 raisins, 1 telescope, and a pair of tweezers."

Hey Cranky Pants

Yeah, I know, the stamp says "Hey Sassy Pants" but I gotta be honest and say that  I'm more in a "hey cranky pants" kind of mood.  Mostly it stems from it being Monday, having a cold, and having a cranky child this morning.  He is soooo done with school so getting him up and ready is a bit of a trial.  It took him 20 minutes to find his shoes this morning and then he dawdled over his pancakes.  So you can imagine that we were a tad late in the drop off line (the bell rung as we pulled up) We got a stern stare from the principal this morning.  Sigh.  I hate being late.

My card today was made with the MFT sketch for this month.  And yes, I know that the flower paper is crooked.  My cutter went to to Scrapbook Heaven this weekend.  I"ll need a new one desperately. Anybody have one they love?

I was going to pull my card apart and fix it with scissors but I glued that sucker on pretty well and it isn't coming off!  Sooo, I guess I'll live with it!

Creative Card Crew: "Sentimental"

Happy Tuesday

It IS a happy day for me.  By the time you see this post, I should be a Great Aunt again.  I'm already a great (fantastic, amazing, and completely modest) aunt but today my niece is having a baby.  Yay.  Little Levi should be here shortly.  So THAT makes me a Great Aunt.

But back to crafting, Today Creative Card Crew is sponsored by the amazing, fantastic, and great Simon Says Stamp.  This means there is a $20 Gift Certificate up for grabs for the winning card!

This challenge,  Creative Card Crew would like to see you use your sentiments as your focus.  I was trying to channel Becca Feeken while making my card.  I don't think I got HER level of talent, but I'm OK with mine.

We would love to see YOUR sentimental card.  Stop by, leave a little love for the other DT members and post your card.

Supplies:
Stamps: SU
Paper: SU
Accessories: MFT lacy oval die, Nestibilities, ribbon, pearls, pin,

You Can Tell ...

That fun was had this weekend while I was on my 'girls only weekend'.  The house looks like a bomb went off inside and I can see the remains of MANY poptarts wrappers and fast food bags.  Apparently Daddy chose NOT to cook this weekend.  Oh well, no one is dead and I certainly had a good time at the quilt show without the boys.  Much fabric that I did NOT need was purchased.  I'm finding that I can be just as much a hoarder with fabric as I am with paper.  I think I'm going to have to buy a bigger house just to contain it all!

I need a manly happy birthday card this week AND I wanted a chance to use Jen's sketch #47.  It was a great one.

Supplies:
Stamps: Hambo, Beast Inky Antics, Beast Wishes.
Paper: Bo Bunny
Accessories: Nestibilities: tags, copics, ribbon

March's Monthly Image Challenge

I FINALLY have some time get back in the crafting groove.  Good thing too, I am two months behind in making the Monthly Image Challenge.  I decided to do Angela's Challenge first since it was readily handy.  I'll have to dig around and see if I can locate Tanja's March Challenge.  I hate that I am so cluttery in my crafting area.

This week I'm using Jen's Deconstructed Sketch #49, though looking at it now, I can see that I rotated the rectangles.  Apparently I wasn't paying close enough attention!  Oh well!

TJ got glasses today.  Considering that he's lost his coat 5 times (yes, FIVE times) this winter, I'm wondering how many days will pass before he loses his glasses, his case or both. {Sigh}
